Silence

Night

The silence isn't really silent. I hear it before I go to bed each night. It's actually quite loud. It fills my head with such a piercing sound which makes you believe that you can actually hear what animals can hear. It's really painful. It's hurting me now.

No matter which angle I face, I can still hear this extremely loud silence. Why does it feel like I'm the only one who hears it? Am I the only one who hears it??

It is said that complete silence is only experienced upon death, as in the city there is always the constant buzz of electronics, and in the country there is always the sound of the blowing wind, or yourself breathing.

Studies have apparently shown that in labs, animals which have been subjected to a total lack of noise, have shown signs of behavioural changes and aggression. And the funny thing is that I can totally relate to that.

This silence is driving me mad . ..
